Together with the Sifton Family Foundation, we were thrilled to donate a total of $9,850.00 to Child Hunger Brantford in August, a non-profit registered charity that promotes healthy food choices, supports and provides local food education and outreach in the community. These funds will be used to ...provide 10 children with a healthy meal at school every day for one year.
Founded in 2013, Child Hunger Brantford was formed to address food insecurity faced by youth in Brantford communities. With the vision of "Nurturing Children and Their Families," the hope is to support and empower individuals, families and the community through programs and training that nurtures potential. Lunches are prepared daily in a commercial kitchen at Grace Anglican Church and delivered to the schools, and consist of a hot or cold main course, fruit, vegetable and a healthy snack for each break. When the Covid-19 pandemic arrived, Child Hunger Brantford created and implemented the Lockdown Lunch Box program offering daily nutritious lunch and snacks to children facing food insecurity by delivering directly to their front doors! This program now operates throughout the summer, on any holidays and of course during any shut down.
